Everyone’s favorite season – Summer! And it’s all about the sand and the sea.
A couple of my college friends wanted to celebrate summer and the end of the school year (for some of us). As the person who travels a lot in the group, I was assigned to plan for everything. The location, the accommodation, the budget, all the way down to our meals. LOL
I don’t mind cause I love to plan trips! What I hate, though, is when I just finished planning for everything and they would cancel the trip on me. It’s a good thing everyone was okay with it. *whew!*
For our summer outing trip, we went to Durhan White Beach Resort. It is located on the northern part of Cebu. I went there a few years back and loved it. I decided to bring everyone here because of its beautiful sunset.
Durhan White Beach Resort is affordable and their rooms are well-kept. They also have hammocks for those who wants to chill, a chapel, a basketball court, a mini bar, a restaurant and cooking area if you want to cook your own food. You can rent frying pan and cauldron from the restaurant but you provide your own oil, wood or coal and matches.
I planned an early call time so we could arrive at the resort early. Since most of us have trouble waking up early, we ended up not sleeping at all. LOL. We met at one of our friend’s house and we tried to keep each other awake while waiting for the others and it wasn’t easy. Haha.
Once everyone has arrived, we headed to the north bus terminal. You can choose between non air-conditioned or air-conditioned buses, depending on your budget and preference. We allotted Php 800 for the trip which includes the roundtrip bus fare, accommodation: 1 cottage (good for 8) and 1 air-conditioned room (good for 2), food and drinks plus cooking equipment rental fee.
We arrived at the resort exhausted and hungry, while others wait for our room and cottage, some of us went to the market to get some ingredients for our meals. After our lunch, everyone dozed off wherever they want and by late afternoon, things started to pick up.
We prepared dinner, took a dip, watched a beautiful sunset while swimming, took some photos, had dinner, played card games, had a few drinks and talked about love and life.
It was fun and relaxing for all of us. It was a rare occasion that most of us would gather in one place, much less for a weekend.
Thank you guys for an amazing weekend!
Love, J.
